Supplying trees and plants involves more than just delivering a specific tree or plant. The customers are increasingly demanding that the article is accompanied by labels, covers or other extras. Managing the stock of these accessories is therefore becoming more and more important. It happens too often that a plant can not be delivered because a required accessory is not in stock. Managing the stock of photo labels sorted by plant name is particularly time-consuming. WinTree now offers an option to manage your stock of accessories in a simple and easy way.

The accessory has a direct link with the plant name of the article. For example: the accessory photo label Vinca minor is linked to the article Vinca minor via its size. |
The stock management of these accessories occurs in four phases:
- Linking plant qualities to the sizes of the accessories, this can be defined per customer group.
- Linking non-standard accessories to the contacts, by default the settings of the customer group are used.
- Booking stock of the accessory on plant name and an 'accessory size'
- Writing off the accessory stock when processing sales invoices.

In the description below, the management of the stock of plant photo labels is used as an example. It is of course possible to manage the stock of other accessories in this way. You will then need to enter other sizes and stock. As long as the stock of the accessory has a direct link to the plant name of the sold article. |
Basic information
Before the stock of the accessories can be managed, first enter the following basic info:
- Input for article sizes: the accessories consist of a plant name and a size. The sizes to be used must be entered in Maintain Plant qualities. As an example, the sizes for LGC (Label Garden Centre) and LSM (Label Supermarket) are used.
- Linking accessory to standard sizes: for each standard size, an accessory size can be linked. To do this, open the Maintain Plant qualities window, select the correct plant quality and open the "Accessories" tab page.
On this tab page, all customer groups (entered in the basic info) are shown. For each customer group, the size code of the accessory is now entered.
- Linking of non-standard accessories per customer: by default, the accessory sizes are linked to the customer on the basis of the plant quality/customer group. Note that the linked accessory sizes can not be viewed per custom
De-activate the checkbox 'Use the default accessory settings' to enter non-standard article sizes for the customer. As soon as the checkbox is de-activated, all accessory sizes that are linked to the customer group will be displayed.
Linked accessory sizes can be deleted and added. Make sure that only existing sizes are linked to accessory sizes.
Stock
Stock is booked for accessories in the normal way. The stock of the accessories is booked according to the plant's match code and accessory size. For example, the stock of a photo label for the plant Vinca is booked with the size LGC.
Processing
Minimum stock
The stock of the accessories can be managed in the same way as ‘normal’ plant stock. A good tool for maintaining the stock level is the WinTree module Minimum Stock (module number 120). This makes it possible for you to define a minimum stock level and enables the stock to be supplemented quickly and easily.
