Articles are created by WinTree at the moment when a plant name is combined with a plant size. This can occur when stock is booked, but also when sales orders are booked. Every new combination of plant name and plant size that is entered in WinTree will be stored as an article. Multiple articles are referred to as a Stock item. An article with a quantity allocated to it is a stock lot.
Plant size + plant name = article
Multiple articles = Stock item
Article + quantity = stock batch
Multiple stock batches = stock
The terms article, Stock item, stock batch, and stock will be used in all descriptions.
Management of stock is accessed differently, depending on the module composition used.
- When using the Basic module composition, possibly combined with the Batch Manager module (module number 61), follow the menu path: Stock items -> Maintain own production
- When using the Basic composition of modules combined with the Location Manager module (module number 66), follow the menu path: Stock items -> Maintain stock
A separate description for advanced stock alteration of stock is available.
For companies that use a PDA, a separate function is available to update stock using the PDA. This function has three possibilities:
1. PDA is connected directly (via Wi-Fi) with the Wintree database - Stock updates are immediately visible in Wintree.
2. PDA used to transfer booking of all lots from a temporary location to the end location.
3. PDA with Wintree data stored locally - stock is updated in the field, data is then uploaded back into Wintree.
