ShowWinTree - patch installation

If a user experiences problems when working with Wintree, these problems can be reported to the service department of TSD. If the problem cannot be solved directly, an issue will be registered. The user will be linked to the reported issue. As soon as TSD releases a patch in which reported issues have been solved, the user will be notified of this when he starts up WinTree. In the notification, the issues to which the user’s company name is connected will be displayed. Install the latest patch using the WinTree - Install patch function.

Click on the Windows Start button and select All apps -> TSD IT ltd -> WinTree -> Install Patch. The program checks if the file TSD DLM.exe is present in the W:\updates folder (on the local hard disk of the computer) This file will only be present when, in a new patch, issues have been solved to which the user’s company name is connected. For further installation description, please proceed to the Setup page.
If the file is not present in this folder you will receive a notification.

This function cannot be used to download a new general version of Wintree.

ShowCheck for updates

Downloading and installing a patch using WinTree -> Installing patches is only possible if issues are registered and released to the user’s company name. The latest available patch can always be downloaded and installed with the Check for Patches function.

This function cannot be used to download a new general version of Wintree.

In WinTree open the menu: Help -> Check for Updates.
Windows security may give a notification asking if the program of the unknown publisher is allowed to make changes to the computer. Confirm this notification with [Yes] to continue. The menu checks the patch level of the current WinTree version and whether a newer patch is available. If there are no new patches available a notification for this will also be given.

Now close all WinTree programs. Click on [Download] to start the download. Save the file tsd-DLM to W:\. Do not change the file name. Click on [Save].

A small black screen is displayed in which the progress of the download is shown. The download speed is strongly dependent on the available Internet connection. Not all files will be downloaded at this time, this will take place in one of the following steps.

When the tsd-DLM.exe file is downloaded to the right computer, click on [Install]. Otherwise, close the screen with [Close] and start the installation on the right computer. If it is not clear on to which computer the patch needs to be installed, please read the Installation Introduction page.
