Before rights can be set using roles, it is necessary that at least 1 user is added to WinTree and set as the manager. Before adding a user as manager, read the manual Employees. |
Roles can only be added and set by the WinTree manager. Other users will not see the menu 'Roles' in the menu File -> Basic information -> Other. When the menu is opened all existing roles are visible. Click [Add] to add a new role.
A role consists of the following fields:
Description | Enter a clear description of the role. |
Sequence number | Enter a sequence number for the role. This number will be used later to select the roles. |
Data rol | Check the newly added role. This check can be removed later. |
Data selection | Selections, added in the basic information can be chosen here. Use the drop-down list to make a selection. Read more on the usage of selections combined with roles in the manual Use Data Selection. |
When a new role is added with the checkbox 'Data rol' checked, all the other tabs are still empty. Close the screen and reopen the role. The 'Data rol' checkbox can now be unchecked, if no data selection is used. The remaining 5 tabs can now be completed.
Yes | The program may be opened |
No | The programm may not be opened |
- | No rigths set, equal to Yes |
The next illustration below shows an example of how access can be set for the usage of Nursery Manager and Financial Administration.
On this tab, access to different menus can be assigned. This can be more easily completed directly from the menus. Read the manual 'Set up rights per menu'.
On this tab all WinTree menus pre-set by TSD are displayed for access to be assigned (also displayed are programs which are not activated based on the used module structure).
Access can be set here for each menu. Click in the 'Access' column on the - sign. A drop-down list is opened in which the following options are available:
Yes | The menu may be opened and the data can be edited. Some functions can still be limited via the role settings. |
View | The menu may be opened but no data can be added or edited. |
No | The menu can not be opened. |
- | No rights set equal to Yes. |
When the Roles menu is reopened, the menus that are set with an access setting will be shown first. The menus without a setting are shown in alphabetical order.
Menus not preset in this list can be set via the Setting mode. These set up menus are also shown on the 'Windows tab and can still be adjusted.'
The next illustraton below shows an example of set up menus:
Yes | Access to the documents in the group |
No | No access to the documents in the group. |
- | No rigths set, equal to Yes |
Where access is set to Yes or -, print rights for documents in a group can be set on the tab page 'Lists'.
On this tab all documents and labels available for Nursery Manager are displayed. It is not yet possible to set rights for documents from other WinTree programs via this tab. If for a certain group, access is set to No on the 'Listgroups' tab, the documents in the group will still be visible on the 'List' tab. If a group is set to No, it is not necessary to also set the documents within the group to No. All access to the group will be blocked. Therefore, in the 'List' tab, it makes sense to only assign documents from within a group with access of Yes or -.
For each document, the correct rights are set in the ‘Access’ column using a drop-down list. Click the – sign to open the drop-down list. Here, the following options are available:
Yes | The document may be printed |
No | The document may not be printed |
- | No rigths set, equal to Yes |
Yes | Function can be used |
No | Function can't be used |
- | No rights, equal to Yes |
